Anderson Civil Engineering (ACE) was established in 2002 by Martin Anderson who is a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers.

ACE quickly expanded by securing a number of projects up to the value of £3 million.

The company has undertaken a wide variety of civil projects ranging from the construction of new airport runways and refurbishments, terminal buildings, training facilities, fire stations to the building of roads, cycle ways, bridges and piers.

ACE has the capabilities to carry out any general civil engineering through to the more specialist project which requires experience in design and build and value engineering.

Lerwick Cemetery

Lerwick Cemetery, Shetland Islands. Construction of 1300 lairs 1500m drystone walls, roads, car parks and paths.

John O’Groats House Hotel

Client: JOG Highland Ltd

Value: £723,000

John O’Groats House Hotel Development. Groundworks and installation of all electrical, gas drainage and water utilities to service the new 23 unit luxury development.

Landscaping of the whole development, including privacy bunds. Construction of all road infrastructure, underground LPG tank facilities and car parking areas.

Constructed 23 No. foundations for the luxury units. Constructed the concrete substructure and installed all drainage and steelwork pockets for the significant Hotel Apartment extension.

Coll Bridge

Client: Argyll & Bute Council

Value: £240,000

Coll Bridge Replacement. Replace 4 No masonry bridges on a single track road, with precast concrete bridges and masonry parapet walls. Work also involved traffic management, temporary by-passes and asphalt surfacing.

Am Polan

Client: The Highland Council

Ullapool Am Polan. Hard & soft landscaping, including red asphalting, street furniture, 1000m of drystone walling, drainage & installation of new fences & gates.

COAT Bridges

Client: The Highland Council

Value: £100,000

COAT Bridges, Deeside Way. Building and placing 2 ariel mast bridges (1 bridge @ 10m length and the other @ 20m length) it also involved the removal of an existing bridge. The ariel mast bridges were assembled on site and lowered onto reinforced concrete abutments.

Plockton High School

Plockton High School, Ross-shire, Highlands. Enabling works for a new extension. Demolition of old buildings, re-routing services for gas, oil, electric and heating pipework. Short contract period during the school holidays.

SGL Carbon Fibers Ltd, Muir of Ord Industrial Estate, Ross-shire. Various demolition, civils and building construction projects including, significant external drainage works, concrete works, builderworks and joinery, electrical and decoration to construct various refurbishment of the production facilities, while in operation.
